When you "Give Aloha" this month your gift goes directly to reaching children in Hawaii with the Gospel all throughout the year.
This year, there are several easy ways to "Give Aloha" to support CEF of Hawaii. The first way is by giving at your local Food Land grocery store when you check out. Scroll down a little to see the details on how this works. (Click "Donate in Store" to jump to that section.)
Another way you can "Give Aloha" to CEF during September is through our online giving platform. Maybe you shop at Times or Safeway and don't have a Makai card. Or maybe you keep intending to give when you checkout, but you forget or get distracted. Or maybe you don't even live in Hawaii, but you have a connection with our ministry and still want to "Give Aloha" to CEF.
If that sounds like you, then click the "DONATE ONLINE" button on the top left of this page. This will take you to our online giving portal for Give Aloha and you can be a part of helping us reach our goal.
Your online gift won't be matched by Foodland, but we will include it with our "Give Aloha" total as a “matching” gift from a local supporter. Every dollar given online will help us reach our goal of raising $10,000 during the month of September. This way you’ll still be a part of Give Aloha and we can celebrate together the total support God raises for CEF this month.
Finally, if you'd like to "Give Aloha" to CEF the old school way, by sending us a check by mail, please click the "Donate by Mail" button above to see how your gift can be counted towards our goal.
How you give this month doesn't really matter. What matters is that your gift will help us to continue to Give the Gospel to children all across the islands. Thank you in advance for your generosity!
How do I donate to at my local Foodland store?
When you are checking out from your local Foodland, show your Maika‘i Card and inform the cashier you would like to make a donation to CEF of Hawaii (registration code, 77163).
Each person may give up to $249 during the month of September, through the Give Aloha program. If you do not have a Maika‘i Card, you may request one at checkout. Donations made without a Maika’i card will not be matched.
Any donation must be made payable to Foodland, Sack N Save, or Foodland Farms. Your cash register receipt will be your ONLY record of this transaction, so please keep a copy of it for tax filing.
Please note that ALL gifts given through the Give Aloha program go to CEF of Hawaii's General Fund. These resources are used to help sustain the ministry and programs of CEF of Hawaii throughout the year. We are unable to process gifts for individual missionaries through Give Aloha this year.
When Can I Donate?
From Sept. 1-30, when you make a donation at any Foodland, Sack N Save, or Foodland Farms stores; Foodland and the Western Union Foundation will match a portion of each donation after the campaign has concluded and the results have been tallied.
Is My Donation Tax Deductible?
Yes!
Save your store receipt for tax purposes since it will be the only record you will have of your donation. The amount donated and CEF of Hawaii will appear on your receipt. Contributions are tax deductible as permitted by law.
You MUST retain your Foodland receipt for your own tax records. CEF of Hawaii will NOT be able to give individual receipts for gifts given through Give Aloha this year. We receive one lump sum through this program and no information about individuals who give through the program.ragraph
